2009-07-09 | disable the 3c990 firmware because the media is just slightly over-full, | Theo de Raadt
and people on i386 with large dmesg who answer just the right set of questions run the ramdisk out of space.
2009-07-03 | pull in new bnx firmwares | Theo de Raadt
2009-06-11 | extra space | Theo de Raadt
2009-06-11 | Do not show MBRs without the correct signature, instead say they are | Theo de Raadt
bogus and provide less options to the user ok krw
2009-06-04 | Nuke now superfluous ARCH=ARCH lines in install.md and the sed processing of | Kenneth R Westerback
those lines in list2sh.awk. ok deraadt@
2009-06-02 | Add '-h' flag, and '*' as a unit specifier for 'p' Editor command. | Kenneth R Westerback
Both cause partition sizes to be displayed using a human readable format with the units automatically chosen by looking at the smallest partition in the disk label. Remove forceable humanization in 'A' code and use '-h' in install scripts. Prodded & ok deraadt@, verbiage tweaks from jmc@
2009-05-31 | Make bootblock installation as silent as possible by default. While | Theo de Raadt
there, remove a lot of cruft from the various md_installboot functions ok halex
2009-05-15 | second (annoying) part of the run-rt2870 firmware file split. | Damien Bergamini
2009-05-11 | Remind people that mountpoints must now be entered using the disklabel | Theo de Raadt
command; the script does not ask afterwards. Note I am not adjusting the macppc or sgi install.md scripts. I ask their maintainers to clean them before I will maintain them further. Please
2009-05-09 | remove some chatty disklabel stuff | Theo de Raadt
2009-05-06 | Put the tzdir onto some of the media we think it will fit onto | Theo de Raadt
2009-05-03 | We will need bin/sleep on all ramdisks. | Theo de Raadt
2009-04-30 | put the sha256 command at the right path, oops | Theo de Raadt
2009-04-30 | Redo the fdisk handling for MBR-only architectures (macppc has to get | Theo de Raadt
caught up one day, but that is not my battle). Hope people like this tested by oga, ok krw
2009-04-28 | ral was already disabled on ramdiskC, so we don't need the firmware. | Stuart Henderson
ok deraadt | |||
2009-04-25 | If the right conditions exist, ask if xdm should be started automatically. | Theo de Raadt
Yes, there are machines where you X needs configuration, but let us be realistic about it: THAT IS AN X BUG. And there are machines where getty and xdm fight: THAT IS A CONSOLE DRIVER BUG. And this commit is going to force those bugs to eventually matter enough so that they get fixed. Just watch.
2009-04-24 | Remove magic 'bsd.mp -> bsd' linking for the moment as it confuses | Kenneth R Westerback
subsequent upgrades. | |||
2009-04-24 | Move bsd.mp juggling into relevant MD files. Make bsd.mp a default | Kenneth R Westerback
selection on multi-processor machines. Make bsd.mp a sanity check item on multi-processor machines. ok deraadt@
2009-04-19 | Use sysctl -n hw.disknames instead of the custom disknames program | Theo de Raadt
2009-04-17 | further minor unification | Theo de Raadt
2009-04-17 | more syncronization steps.. | Theo de Raadt
2009-04-17 | For SHA256 hashes to be ready to go onto the install media, we must | Theo de Raadt
build the sets before we build the media. While there we can get rid of DESTDIR/snapshot too, and simply install straight into RELEASEDIR. (This also ends up saving an astounding amount of traffic/latency in a nfs environment)
2009-04-17 | Put bin/sha256 and build a hash directory onto the media that can fit | Theo de Raadt
them | |||
2009-04-12 | Tweak pattern used to select partition lines for display so the | Kenneth R Westerback
'# /dev/r...' line is not selected. Noticed by deraadt@
2009-04-12 | No longer need '-f' or '-p' when displaying layout. A few patterns | Kenneth R Westerback
missed the '# size offset ...' line at the top of the partition list.
2009-04-10 | Where appropriate display the auto-allocation layout of the root | Kenneth R Westerback
disk and ask if the installee wants to use it, edit it, or create their own custom disklabel. Most one-disk installs will not need to see fdisk or disklabel. i386 and macppc by me, adapted for others by deraadt@. ok deraadt@
2009-02-20 | Don't copy disktab onto install media as it is not used during | Kenneth R Westerback
installs. Also nuke the link created for disktab. ok deraadt@ miod@
2009-02-15 | Build install media with disktab.shadow already in /tmp, rather | Kenneth R Westerback
than have the install script copy it there. Shrinks install script, removes an extra copy of disktab. ok deraadt@
2009-02-10 | run(4) firmware. reminded by sthen@ | Damien Bergamini
2008-12-02 | commit with rdsetroot now accepting the filesystem as a 2nd arg | Theo de Raadt
2008-12-02 | no longer need to compile rdsetroot with DEBUG | Theo de Raadt
2008-08-25 | use ?= for adjusting RELXDIR for all sets | Theo de Raadt
2008-06-26 | add bio & bioctl to a couple cd based ramdisks | Todd T. Fries
ok deraadt@ | |||
2008-06-26 | First pass at removing clauses 3 and 4 from NetBSD licenses. | Ray Lai
Not sure what's more surprising: how long it took for NetBSD to catch up to the rest of the BSDs (including UCB), or the amount of code that NetBSD has claimed for itself without attributing to the actual authors. OK deraadt@
2008-05-21 | pccom is dead. long live com. Bring install script into the new world. | Kenneth R Westerback
2008-03-23 | No point in warning users during install that the disklabel has a | Kenneth R Westerback
weird number of partitions, doesn't checksum, doesn't exist or was found at a particular sector. Brings all archs together in omerta by eliminating use of '-r' and examination of disklabel messages. ok deraadt@
2008-03-04 | Redo serial console configuration logic. Smaller, easier to | Kenneth R Westerback
understand. Add serial console handling for alpha, macppc, zaurus. No functional change for i386/amd64. All archs should now have automatic serial console configuration. ok deraadt@
2008-01-11 | cleanup: make -> ${MAKE} consistenly. | Marc Espie
zap extra subshells. okay miod@
2007-10-18 | enter iso dir for clean/cleandir, too, to delete dribbles | Theo de Raadt
2007-08-14 | make obj dirs in iso; talked with miod about it | Theo de Raadt
2007-08-10 | add missing xserv, and use ${MACHINE} throughout (still needs testing) | Theo de Raadt
2007-08-10 | use more variables, because variables are good | Theo de Raadt
2007-08-10 | a somewhat crude way to generate installXX.iso files based on | Theo de Raadt
intermediate snapshot components. uses some knowledge from our internal build scheme to link together base and X sets.
2007-08-09 | do not install the cdromXX.fs file, it is useless | Theo de Raadt
2007-06-17 | Stop using disklabel -r. The disklabel code does not know all the semantics | Theo de Raadt
for pushing disklabels onto the disk (and besides that, it is buggy and unreadable crap); thanks for help from krw
2007-04-17 | Restore inode parameter for floppy fs to the previous value (524288) | Todd C. Miller
which appears to work around a bug in newfs's summary information generation when used in conjunction with the other fs parameters.
2007-04-13 | Update install media generation to the new semantics of the -c flag. | Todd C. Miller
Also replace "newfs -O" with "newfs -O 0" now that -O takes an option.
2007-04-09 | Add -n to gzip flags. Save a few bytes since we no longer save | Todd C. Miller
the uncompressed filename in the gzip header.
2007-02-14 | put the disknames command on all install media (hope i did not miss any) ok krw@ | Theo de Raadt
2007-02-11 | Nuke MDFSTYPE and MDFSOPTS, 'mount -t ...' and giving the user the | Kenneth R Westerback
option to choose a filesystem type when mounting a disk. Rely on the filesystem information provided by the disklabel. When there is only one usable partition on the selected disk, just mount it without bothering the user with a question. Ensure that msdos filesystems are mounted with '-s' so that the names of the install sets will be in lower case and thus visible to the script. msdos problems noted by Rodolfo Gouveia, who did a lot of testing and debugging. 'mount -t ...' silliness pointed out by deraadt@. |
