2005-06-02Start on a basic ACPI framework -- does not do much more than read out theThorsten Lockert
ACPI tables into kernel memory and attach ACPI and HPET timers currently. In order to test this code, enabling the devices in GENERIC as well as the ACPI_ENABLE option is needed. This code does not do any thermal control yet, so this should be done with care depending on the platform. In the tree so more people can contribute to making this more fully featured. has something to work with when more than one keyboard is present during install/upgrade. Remove some superfluous wd's and sd's while there. Problem noted by Jan Johansson when trying to get a 'sv' keymap to work with his usb keyboard. Diagnosis & solution suggested by miod@. ok deraadt@

2004-02-10Add the ptm device to pty(4). By opening /dev/ptm and using the PTMGETTodd C. Miller
ioctl(2), an unprivileged process may allocate a pty and have its owner and mode set appropriately. This means that programs such as xterm and screen no longer need to be setuid. Programs using the openpty() function require zero changes and will "just work". Designed by beck@ and deraadt@; changes by beck@ with cleanup (and a rewrite of the vnode bits) by art@ and tweaks/bugfixes by me. Tested by many.
