2010-02-25some minor tweaks to the "next day cleanup": in particular,Ingo Schwarze
reference security(8) and make it clear that mail is not always sent; discussed some time ago with jmc@
2010-02-18Our groff does not handle all cases of nested displays properly, soIngo Schwarze
resolve the contradiction in the manual whether it's allowed or not in favour of "not allowed" for now, shelving my diff to support nested displays in mandoc(1) for later consideration. Found by and unbreaking the build with mandoc(1). Feedback and OK jmc@
2010-01-24link man section 8 for loongson. ok miod@Matthieu Herrb
2010-01-23generate 1st version.Matthieu Herrb
2010-01-03Neither .Pp nor unqualified text are allowed at the top level of .Bl;Ingo Schwarze
instead, .It is required. Thus, move .Pp and text before the .Bl, and remove the .Pp altogether where it is not needed. Syntax errors found by mandoc(1), also required to fix the mandoc build; feedback and ok jmc@, and sobrado@ also supports the direction.
2010-01-02Igor Sobrado found out that roff regards '\!' as the "transparent lineIngo Schwarze
indicator". Even groff(1) does not in general seem very well-behaved with respect to it, and it is not clear what advantage it might have compared to '\"', the good old "beginning of comment" escape sequence. Regarding the case at hand, it is breaking the mandoc(1) build, and i checked that we get no output change from groff(1). ok jmc@
2009-12-25be nice by documenting a rather non-obvious trap:Ingo Schwarze
as SUIDSKIP internally relies on find(1) -path, it won't work with trailing slashes. found the hard way by paul de weerd@ ok jmc@
2009-11-19oops - i did not spot previous was a list item, and needed quotedJason McIntyre
because of the number of args. sorry, philip, i should have checked your diff... fix that, and one more spacing issue in another item;
2009-11-19Dell's SVR4 apparently mapped page zero to the executable. We don'tPhilip Guenthe
do that and, given the security issues it exacerbates, never will. So document it and delete the disabled support. ok deraadt@ tedu@
2009-10-22Since etc/daily rev. 1.58, there is no more output redirection in crontab(5).Ingo Schwarze
Consequently, clean up the related instructions, this is now simpler. While here, make the discussion of daily(8) more concise. Thanks to Rene Maroufi <info at maroufi dot net> for reporting the outdated documentation. Wording tweaked by jmc@, OK jmc@ sobrado@
