2005-11-21 | Move contents of sys/select.h to sys/selinfo.h in preparation for a | Todd C. Miller
userland-visible sys/select.h. Consistent with what Net and Free do. OK deraadt@, tested with full ports build by naddy@.
2005-11-15 | enable bktr(4) and radio(4) on alpha | Robert Nagy
ok deraadt@ mickey@ | |||
2005-11-12 | no longer require boot_osflags being set to 'a' in the SRM for going ↵ | Martin Reindl
multiuser; setting boot_osflags to 's' explicitly will get us to singleuser as usual; very old SRM versions can only set 'a' or 's', but are still fine because we ignore 'a' now and default to multiuser idea and ok deraadt@, jsg@, testing by many final ok miod@
2005-11-03 | use splvm() here instead of splimp(). in currently unused MULTIPROCESSOR code. | Brad Smith
ok martin@ | |||
2005-10-30 | Remove unused pcb field (this should have been part of the fetch(9)/store(9) | Miod Vallat
removal ages ago). | |||
2005-10-28 | no more Mach-macros | Martin Reindl
2005-10-17 | Rename ncpus to alpha_ncpus so that MI ncpus matches the number of | Miod Vallat
attached processors; deraadt@ ok
2005-09-27 | Don't try to read the DOS label from the device if spoofonly is 1. | Kenneth R Westerback
This changes the architectures which use code identical to the amd64 disksubr.c. macppc seems different so it will be separate. The remaining archs don't try to read a DOS label. ok deraadt@
2005-09-15 | In syscall(), do not recompute the struct proc * after the syscall has | Miod Vallat
succeeded. This used to be necessary for fork(), when returning in the child, but we return in the child in child_return() which does TRT. ok art@
2005-09-15 | Change child_return() to record a proper ktrace record for vfork child | Miod Vallat
processes. ok art@ uwe@ (some time ago)
2005-08-06 | If a process has trashed its stack, use sigexit() instead of psignal() to | Miod Vallat
terminate it with prejudice, as done in native sendsig(). Plus you get a memory leak in COMPAT_HPUX on m68k fixed for free. review art@ test martin@
2005-06-17 | Override cpu_switch() with a faster version if we can use BWX instructions. | Miod Vallat
From RusticBSD, ok deraadt@
2005-05-09 | fixes and updates for root device detection from NetBSD: | Martin Reindl
- remove unneeded checks and variables - use strncasecmp() to check b->protocol because the case is dependant on the firmware revision - check logical unit numbers - consistently check PCI function numbers - on the 6600 models check which PCI hierarchy is looked at - makes root device detection on DS20 (6600) work testing by claudio, xsa and miod; ok miod@
2005-05-09 | - add alpha optimized in4_cksum | Brad Smith
- de register and use ANSI prototypes From NetBSD ok miod@ martin@

2005-04-21 | count fpu lazy context switches; deraadt@ ok | Michael Shalayeff
2005-04-21 | correct idiom for snprintf failure handling; ok beck | Theo de Raadt
2005-03-30 | first approximation: spoof UDF filesystem disklabels when we see them. | Theo de Raadt
it is likely a slight bug or two will sneak in with this, so everyone please keep an eye out on your disklabels
2004-12-25 | Use list and queue macros where applicable to make the code easier to read; | Miod Vallat
no functional change. | |||
2004-12-24 | {e,}intr{cnt,names} bye-bye. | Miod Vallat
2004-12-06 | Use uvm_grow() to account for stack growth, rather than home-grown code | Miod Vallat
or nothing. Inspired by a similar recent change in NetBSD.
2004-11-02 | Remove __HAVE_NWSCONS and related remnants of pre-wscons days; no functional | Miod Vallat
change. | |||
2004-08-16 | Uninline splraise to save some time and space. | Artur Grabowski
deraadt@ ok, tested by many for a long time.
2004-07-18 | minor space savings | Theo de Raadt
2004-07-06 | assert is dumb dumb dumb; no objection from miod | Theo de Raadt
2004-07-04 | turn off _KERN_DO_ECOFF unless COMPAT_OSF1 is enabled. This shrinks the | Theo de Raadt
ramdisks, too. | |||
2004-07-03 | sigh, not yet | Theo de Raadt
2004-07-03 | oops something went wrong in commit | Theo de Raadt
2004-07-03 | {e,}intr{names,cnt} are extinct | Theo de Raadt
2004-06-28 | Use new event counter API for interrupt counting on alpha. By me, with some | Aaron Campbell
edits by Theo. deraadt@ ok
2004-06-18 | Add /dev/crypto support. | Miod Vallat
2004-06-13 | debranch SMP, have fun | Niklas Hallqvist
2004-06-08 | Use cpuid_t whenever possible, rather than an angry combination of long | Miod Vallat
there and u_long elsewhere. ok marc@ deraadt@
2004-06-08 | pull ncpus support from smp tree into main branch. | Marco S Hyman
remove alpha specific definition of ncpus. OK (and tested on alpha) deraadt@
2004-05-30 | Devices hot plugging support. | Alexander Yurchenko
The hotplug pseudo-device passes device attachment and detachment events to userland. When a device attaches or detaches, the corresponding event is queued. The events can then be obtained from the queue through the read(2) call on the /dev/hotplug device file. Each event consists of event type (attach/detach), device class (DV_*) and device name (sd1 e.g.). We have hotplug pseudo-device on alpha, amd64, i386, macppc and sparc64. Since it was tested only on i386 other archs has it commented out in GENERIC until tested. The idea liked peter@ tedu@ drahn@ millert@ marco@ henning@. Ok deraadt@.
2004-03-17 | Make sure disklabels use at least DEV_BSIZE as their sector size. | Miod Vallat
This allows the kernel to survive reading the disklabel off a 256-bytes/sector scsi device... ok deraadt@
2004-03-10 | Ensure that we obey a user's ddb> boot reboot command even if the system | Tom Cosgrove
is cold (during startup). This adds RB_USERREQ to sys/reboot.h, uses it in the ddb commands, and ensures that */*/machdep.c:boot() won't set RB_HALT when cold if this flag is set. ok deraadt@
2004-02-10 | Add the ptm device to pty(4). By opening /dev/ptm and using the PTMGET | Todd C. Miller
ioctl(2), an unprivileged process may allocate a pty and have its owner and mode set appropriately. This means that programs such as xterm and screen no longer need to be setuid. Programs using the openpty() function require zero changes and will "just work". Designed by beck@ and deraadt@; changes by beck@ with cleanup (and a rewrite of the vnode bits) by art@ and tweaks/bugfixes by me. Tested by many.
2004-01-22 | dot_conv() is not used. | Miod Vallat

2003-11-08 | Avoid a race condition while swapping in a process. | Thomas Nordin
Tested by mickey@, henning@, ericj@, and beck@. ok mickey@
2003-11-06 | move netisr definition into md code to allow arch provide suitable ↵ | Michael Shalayeff
allocation; tested on most archs
2003-10-18 | typos from Jared Yanovich; | Jason McIntyre
2003-10-03 | Merge tty_attach() in ttymalloc() and tty_detach() in ttyfree(). The need for | Miod Vallat
separate tty registering is gone now that sparc has switched to wscons, and this makes the code less error-prone. Also, remove tests for ttymalloc() failure, since it uses M_WAITOK. ok millert@ deraadt@, tested by various people as well besides me... |
