2009-06-19They're DPME partitions, not DPMI partitions.Kenneth R Westerback
ok miod@ drahn@
2009-06-15Back out all the buffer cache changes I committed during c2k9. This reverts ↵Bob Beck
three commits: 1) The sysctl allowing bufcachepercent to be changed at boot time. 2) The change moving the buffer cache hash chains to a red-black tree 3) The dynamic buffer cache (Which depended on the earlier too). ok on the backout from marco and todd
2009-06-14Don't mess with the bounds in the lp if *partoffp is non-NULL, since thisTheo de Raadt
indicates that writedisklabel is trying to find the location for writing the label. If the lp is messed with, an invalid checksum is written. done with miod and kettenis, lots of moaning and gnashing of teeth, etc
2009-06-09backout interrupt diff until it the next round of fixesTheo de Raadt
2009-06-05Clamp the ending bound to the size of the disk. This makes disklabel -ATheo de Raadt
still do the right thing if the MBR has a lie in it
2009-06-04Recycle four ancient fields in the disklabel structure, replacing them withTheo de Raadt
bounds information, ie. the zone of the disk that OpenBSD can use. Have each pre-disklabel parser (MBR, DPME, or per-arch MD disklabel parsers) figure out this area and pass it up to userland. Then, delete all the same disk parsing code from disklabel(8) since the kernel passes it up. Lots and lots of - signs in the disklabel(8) code. Tested on as many platforms as possible, the fallout will be repaired as time goes on. To test, use disklabel -d <drive> and validate that the bounds do not overlap any boot blocks. This same information is used by disklabel -A... OK for the concept from krw, miod, and drahn
2009-06-03add kern.bufcachepercent sysctl to allow adjusting the buffer cacheBob Beck
size on a running system. ok art@, oga@
2009-06-02Somehow this change didn't get committed with the rest of the powepc interruptDale Rahn
fixes. Required to be changed at the same time.
2009-06-02Reintroduce the macppc interrupt subsystem rewrite. Several bugs haveDale Rahn
been found and corrected.
2009-05-31Add support for udl in socppc. ok @miod and @kettenisMats O Jansson
2009-05-31Remove BUS_DMAMEM_NOSYNC definition. Its name is not consistent withMiod Vallat
other BUS_DMA_xxx flag names, and nothing uses it. ok many@
2009-05-21The only value that d_npartitions should have is MAXPARTITIONS.Kenneth R Westerback
2009-04-20Add a BUS_DMA_ZERO flag for bus_dmamem_alloc() to return zeroed memory.Owain Ainsworth
Saves every damned driver calling bzero(), and continues the M_ZERO, PR_ZERO symmetry.
2009-04-14Convert the waitok field of uvm_pglistalloc to "flags", more will be added soon.Owain Ainsworth
For the possibility of sleeping, the first two flags are UVM_PLA_WAITOK and UVM_PLA_NOWAIT. It is an error not to show intention, so assert that one of the two is provided. Switch over every caller in the tree to using the appropriate flag. ok art@, ariane@

2009-03-07When allocating memory in bus_dmamem_alloc() with uvm_pglistalloc(), do notMiod Vallat
try to be smart for the address range, uvm_pglistalloc() is smart enough nowadays.

2009-02-10remove run(4) from some RAMDISKDamien Bergamini
2009-02-10enable run(4) everywhere where ural(4) and rum(4) are enabled.Damien Bergamini
run(4) has been reported to work on sparc64 by Maxim Belooussov so I'm pretty confident that it works on all arches.

2009-01-11Fix a sed bug in the makefile's depend target.Paul Irofti
What happened was that the output of mkdep was fed to a sed expression that trimmed a bit more than required and also failed to work when attempting to do make depend with pcc. Example: genassym_c.o: /tmp/genassym.whatever ../../../../../sys/param.h \ was changed to: assym.h: \ but what was intended was: assym.h: ../../../../../sys/param.h \ For the pcc -M output things were a bit different and after the make depend the genassym entry would still remain and make would fail. This affected all platforms except amd64 and sgi. Okay miod@.
2008-12-06Revert this to, due to the ppc intr backout. -moj ok @kettenisMats O Jansson
2008-12-04Revert ppc intr stuff. Make socppc compile again. -mojMats O Jansson

2008-10-02First step towards cleaning up the Ethernet driver ioctl handling.Brad Smith
Move calling ether_ioctl() from the top of the ioctl function, which at the moment does absolutely nothing, to the default switch case. Thus allowing drivers to define their own ioctl handlers and then falling back on ether_ioctl(). The only functional change this results in at the moment is having all Ethernet drivers returning the proper errno of ENOTTY instead of EINVAL/ENXIO when encountering unknown ioctl's. Shrinks the i386 kernels by.. RAMDISK - 1024 bytes RAMDISKB - 1120 bytes RAMDISKC - 832 bytes Tested by martin@/jsing@/todd@/brad@ Build tested on almost all archs by todd@/brad@ ok jsing@
2008-08-24Fix readdpmelabel() so it doesn't corrupt a disklabel about to beKenneth R Westerback
written (i.e. partoff != NULL), and doesn't corrupt a disklabel with more than eight (8) dpme partitions. Problems reported by Josh Elsasser via PR#5904. Testing by Josh, otto@, drahn@, maja@, kettenis@. Most of the diff from otto@. ok drahn@

2008-06-26First pass at removing clauses 3 and 4 from NetBSD licenses.Ray Lai
Not sure what's more surprising: how long it took for NetBSD to catch up to the rest of the BSDs (including UCB), or the amount of code that NetBSD has claimed for itself without attributing to the actual authors. OK deraadt@
