2005-04-11use MD #define to choose stackgap size per-architecture. on sparc, specialTheo de Raadt
case sun4c/sun4 -- because address space is more constrained
2005-04-04Nuke pmap_bootstrap_alloc(), not used anymore.Miod Vallat
2005-03-31Reduce MAX and Default DATA Segment sizes to leave more MMAP space forThierry Deval
use by mmap_malloc. This change and MMAP(2) malloc need some care to rebuild the system. I definitely suggest using a snapshot when it appears in the coming days. For the daring people : - update src - build and install new kernel, no reboot yet - build and install new libc - build and install new gcc - build and install new make - build and install new binutils - reboot - make build (thanks martin@)
2005-03-30first approximation: spoof UDF filesystem disklabels when we see them.Theo de Raadt
it is likely a slight bug or two will sneak in with this, so everyone please keep an eye out on your disklabels
2005-03-08Cosmetics...Thierry Deval
Mainly remove space between locators parens, replace spaces with tabs where appropriate and consistently align dependencies.

2004-11-26Kill __HAVE_EVCOUNT, now that all architectures provide them.Miod Vallat
2004-11-09Do not map empty mbufs (m_len == 0) in bus_dmamap_load_mbuf() as these mappingsClaudio Jeker
may disturb the dma as seen in ipw(4). Emtpy mbufs are at the beginning of the mbuf chain and are as example a "side-effect" of a previous m_adj() call. OK miod@ mickey@ jason@ markus@
2004-10-16Provide a dummp __swap64md() on MD_SWAP architectures; needed by nm(1) now.Miod Vallat

2004-05-04Remove useless ``elm'' argument from the SIMPLEQ_REMOVE_HEAD macro.Alexander Yurchenko

2004-03-17Make sure disklabels use at least DEV_BSIZE as their sector size.Miod Vallat
This allows the kernel to survive reading the disklabel off a 256-bytes/sector scsi device... ok deraadt@
2004-03-10Ensure that we obey a user's ddb> boot reboot command even if the systemTom Cosgrove
is cold (during startup). This adds RB_USERREQ to sys/reboot.h, uses it in the ddb commands, and ensures that */*/machdep.c:boot() won't set RB_HALT when cold if this flag is set. ok deraadt@
2004-03-09Turn FAULTCHK in a real statement-like macro.Miod Vallat
2004-02-19Kill <sys/clist.h> - nothing uses it since years.Miod Vallat
2004-02-15new arg to disk_unbusy, to record separate read/write statistics.Ted Unangst
looked at by various, testing henning@ mcbride@ dan weeks mostly from netbsd via Pedro Martelletto <pbastos@rdc.puc-rio.br>
2004-02-10Add the ptm device to pty(4). By opening /dev/ptm and using the PTMGETTodd C. Miller
ioctl(2), an unprivileged process may allocate a pty and have its owner and mode set appropriately. This means that programs such as xterm and screen no longer need to be setuid. Programs using the openpty() function require zero changes and will "just work". Designed by beck@ and deraadt@; changes by beck@ with cleanup (and a rewrite of the vnode bits) by art@ and tweaks/bugfixes by me. Tested by many.
2004-01-29typos; jjy2+@pitt.eduTheo de Raadt
2004-01-04put INET6, rtsol, and ping6 onto media where it fits. install.sub changesTheo de Raadt
which begin to enable use of this will follow at a later time.
2004-01-03put an mi wrapper around stdarg.h/varargs.h. gcc3 moved stdarg/varargs macrosMarc Espie
to built-ins, so eventually we will have one version of these files. Special adjustments for the kernel to cope: machine/stdarg.h -> sys/stdarg.h and machine/ansi.h needs to have a _BSD_VA_LIST_ for syslog* prototypes. okay millert@, drahn@, miod@.
2004-01-01Some typos just never die (here controler vs controller).Miod Vallat

2003-11-10Get rid of the "struct pte" bitfield, and use straight integers.Miod Vallat
Makes the code slightly more readble, removes casts, and makes some specific constants defined for the bitfields disappear in pmap.c... No functional change.
