The

.Fn atan2f
functions compute the principal value of the arc tangent of

using the signs of both arguments to determine the quadrant of
the return value.

returns the arc tangent of

The reasons for assigning a value to

are these:

reasonable way with signed zeros and infinities
on a machine that conforms to
