+The

+function associates a stream with the given
+.Fa buffer

+.Fa size .
+The

+can be either

+or must be of the given

+If the

+is
+.Dv NULL ,
+a
+.Fa buffer
+of the given
+.Fa size
+will be dynamically allocated using

+and released when
